Showtime configured to automatically detect charsets (default charset = auto)

Any ideas on how to make the subtitle auto detection engine more robust? This is not the first bug report mentioning bad parsing ;)

No possibility of having it in 5.0? Most of the Mandarin subs I use fail autodetection. As Rural Hunter suggested, implementing GBK would solve most of the issues.
