Description

Basically what the title says: 1080i files are not being deinterlaced on Showtime. The PS3 default player deinterlaces files correctly.

On the file attached the lack of deinterlacing on at least 1080i files can be seen.

Can't reproduce this. Tried on RPi and PS3 on two different TV.
One LCD and second Plasma. ST says file is 1080p.

I have no idea if ST recognizes the file as 1080i on my end, but I do know that the file is interlaced and not progressive.

In any case, were you able to see the lack of deinterlacing during the actual playback? In the sample file I provided it's very mild due to the lack of fast movements, but I once had a sports file in which it was basically awful to experience.
