I've done some work on this for the Raspberry Pi. But I ended up implementing an CEC client using RPi's own APIs instead.

Maybe I could add the libcec stuff back in.

That would be great. On my HTPC I have to use Pulse-Eight adapter to get CEC functionality so that's why I suggested libcec. That should also support Raspberry Pi AFAICT. Do you think it would be possible to use this in PS3 builds as well? I have old CECHC model which does not have CEC enabled.
