How to differentiate Traditional Chinese from Simplified Chinese in the subtitles?

Added by Ema Nymton almost 7 years ago

I use the ISO code "chi" in Showtime settings to automatically check for Chinese subtitles but there's no way to differentiate subtitles in Traditional Chinese from those in Simplified Chinese (since the same spoken language is used).
How to do?

Thanks!

The strings entered does not have a direct meaning for Showtime. They are passed on as-is to the plugins (such as opensubtitles which in turn pass the strings to the server's API).

So you can in theory make up your own language and call it 'xyz' and Showtime will pick up subtitles if it matches.

However, there won't be an "English" name for that language.

Those are defined here: https://github.com/andoma/showtime/blob/master/src/misc/isolang.c

I can add more there if needed if you tell me what to add.
