Showtime does not support HD channels from Tvheadend?

Added by sami abdullah about 10 years ago

Hello,

I am wondering if showtime supports the display of 1080i HD channels? I am using tvheadend with xbmc and everything runs super fine but with showtime
I get a screen as shown below:

Regards,
Sami

Should be supported. Can you start showtime with -d and paste the output here? What kind of graphics hardware and driver are you using?

Hi Mattias,

I am using Nvidia 9400 GT graphic card with driver version 275.09.07. Here is the output trying to open an HD channel:

In showtime video playback options, I disabled vdpau and now picture is fine but with much stress on my CPUs :(. So there is something wrong I assume with vdpau.

Thanks.

Don't know if andoma has any clues.
Could you file a new issue and provide a sample file?

RE: Showtime does not support HD channels from Tvheadend? - Added by sami abdullah about 10 years ago

Hi Mattias,

Today I have installed debian squeeze on a different partition and the problem did not exist. I think it was specific to my own ubuntu installation.

Thanks and best Regards,
Sami

RE: Showtime does not support HD channels from Tvheadend? - Added by Mattias Wadman about 10 years ago

So it's probably a nvidia driver issue? what nvidia driver version does squeeze use?

RE: Showtime does not support HD channels from Tvheadend? - Added by sami abdullah about 10 years ago

I installed the nvidia proprietary driver manually. Debian came with the nouveau open source driver. The version I installed was 280.13 but I tried this same binary
driver in my ubuntu installation without success. I think there was something wrong on my ubuntu partition because I always try installing many stuff on it and
I am not that good on linux so chances are high that I skrewed it up, so I decided now to stick with Debian.

Sami
