SMB protocol update

Added by Anonymous over 5 years ago

Maybe this is the wrong place but for some reason I just noticed that if I turn on the minimum SMB protocol on my NAS to SMB2 I get a malformed response.
From a security standpoint we should not even be using SMB1 so why does Movian still want to use it to function properly?
WebDAV works okay, NFS works alright, haven't tried AFP. Should I file a feature request or bug fix?

I don't know if it is related to your issue, but I have a HDD attached to my router, which supports "samba", but the only way Movian is able to connect/browse is if I use the smb port in the address like: smb://192.168.x.x:139/share/folder/

I encounted the "Samba: Socket read error during negoation" after I reinstalled my windows 10 completey, and it doesn't even come with SMB1 anymore by default, you have to install it (and enable guest access).
So it would be better to have it updated to a newer protocol, and even be able to enter user account settings with a specified server.
