Video mode not supported on 720p Phillips TV

Added by Francisco Sanchez about 6 years ago

Hello, i have an old Philips 23PF5320 TV but when i conect a RPi with STOS installed (and tested and updated in other TV) I get Video mode not supported. I think the old tv only does 720p, is it posible to set video resolution? or switch to RCA SD?
Thanks

1. Go to this wiki to see a list of supported formats.

2. Ssh into your pi, or try and access your config file by other means. If you know how to execute commands from winSCP you could do:
mount /boot -o remount,rw
vi /boot/config.txt
add your configuration setting on a line BELOW the STOS config>Example
hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=81
mount /boot -o remount,ro
sync
reboot

Each tv is going to be different and tricky, so your best bet is through trial and error settings.
Good luck!
