Searching PLX files that aren't on the naviextreme server

Added by ßlueplanet . about 6 years ago

I Host my PLX files on dropbox as I find the naviextreme server to unreliable (especially on weekends)
A feature that I sincerely miss however is the ability to search for my movies

this is a basic search item that search's the naviextreme database

type=search
name=Search Test
URL=http://www.navixtreme.com/cgi-bin/json2plx.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpipes.yahoo.com%2Fpipes%2Fpipe.run%3F_id%3D3506582ce91dd9e676dc5d32bad3463d%26_render%3Djson%26t%3D

Could there be a way to modifiy it to search files hosted on a server other than naviextreme?

Thanks :)

Just for video items
I basically use my own home.plx file as var home_URL, which contains links to 26 sub plx files (A - Z)

here is what the letter X looks like
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/f5u1flvkl6tdjpy/MOVIES%20%28X%29.plx?dl=0

So for example searching for the word "files" would only bring up the X Files movies

Thanks again for your help :)

Frankly to say - dunno how to properly implement that.

But try Dropbox plugin. In v0.3.3 I added PLX support and you can directly open those files in Showtime (be sure you installed Navi-X plugin too).

I am now able to view my files in the Dropbox plugin but I still can't search for movies like I can in the yts plugin
Does the dropbox plugin have a search because I can't find it?

If not could it be implemented like the yts pluginn.

Update to Dropbox v0.4 plugin. It supports searcher now. It will search in filenames and folders but not contents of the files. Looks like this is the only thing I can do now :(

But if you will name your folders and plx files correspondingly you can make a use of it.
