Plex client for Showtime

Someone over at the Plex forum, mentioned a Plex client for Showtime on PS3.

Yes, I will hopefully release the source code for the plugin in a few days.

For anyone interested, I've added support for My Plex which is now the only way to connect.

I am trying to use the plex plugin but I receive an error "unable to open resource".

It also says: http request failed: [outside ip address]:32400/library/sections/ -connection timed out

The ip address is my correct outside ip address and 32400 is the port that my plex server is using. I am just trying to access a plex server that is on the same internal network.

Please help.

Hi,
So far the plugin only tries to connect to the external ip as opposed to the local (your internal ip), this means that your router and firewall must be set up to allow incoming connections. Normally this mean that the router must have uPNP enabled and your plex media server must be configured to tell the router to open and forward the correct port mapping.
You can have a look in the plex media server configuration web interface under "Remote access", for the Movian plugin to work a this stage, a green text saying "Fully accessible outside your network" must be visible on this page.

The plugin currently have the shortcoming that it only tries to connect to the external ip of a plex media server. I plan to fix this during the coming days.

Thank you for the response. I have configured my router to port forward 32400 and uPNP is enabled. Also, Plex does indicate that it is "Fully accessible outside your network". Any other ideas?

It works here (Plex server on my Synology DS415play, and I also created an account on Plex Web. UPNP is deactivated on my router but I had 32400 forwarded in. Everything works fine. Sorry it doesn't work for you
