I wonder what Showtime version do you use. And on which platform. And what media/share type... Log should help to see what's wrong.
In any case I'd suggest to update Showtime to the latest bleeding egde and check there...

I am using showtime bleeding edge 4.7.194. on PS3 and streaming through Upnp.

Same here, sometimes sub don't works or skip some "lines" (randomly)!
This happen with mkv+srt and mkv with embedded sub. Didn't try with other file formats

Rolling back to 4.6 fix the problem

I don't know either where log file is located

Yes, now with 4.6 all back to work well. Didn't try the latest bleeding. This afternoon i can try if u need

I rolled back to 4.6.10 and placed the two files in the same folder on a USB drive and it worked.

Will test on new bleeding edge as i want to see if the wrapping is working as well.
