I was afraid to update the showtime on cfw 4.21. So yesterday I created and updated by showtime courage and works perfect!

no problems to update the cfw 4.21

I'm already on CFW 4.21. The showtime builds here don't seem to work with 4.21. Are you saying you did an update through Showtime? I'm hoping the latest test builds will be signed for 4.21.

Would it be possible for you to sign the latest showtime for 4.21,
this seems to be the only thread on the net that has the latest builds

thank you

last time i did really resigned the latest at that time "272" but the program i used is outdated i guess or something fishy, i tried to resign the ".273" and the same happent it installed .259 or something like that, i updated via showtime to 273 and worked nice, i even restarted just to make sure lol kinda strange

I have been updating through the new builds without a problem also

it would seem you have created an updatable showtime for 4.21

great work my friend ;)

Thanks Mike ! that version works on 4.30 and is able to update too ! superb :)

RE: test builds signed for 4.21? - Added by Mike Rulez almost 8 years ago

Hi, nice to know this also worked for your 4.30 cfw John, let's hope everything is fine with a new release :P

RE: test builds signed for 4.21? - Added by Girish Patel almost 8 years ago

I've just updated my PS3 to Rogero CEX 4.30 v2.03 (when I checked the System on the PS3 it said 4.31). I didn't reload Multiman and that still works. Showtime within Multiman works too but the standalone Showtime that I built does not.

The question I would like to ask is how do I sign Showtime to work with 4.30? Is it done while I build or done afterwards?

Thanks.

Update: Just realised that this has been asked before.

btw guys i can also confirm this is working with Rebug 4.30.1 :) (takes abit to load i guess) but everything is fine :P

In windows you can easily resign the showtime eboot.bin for 4.xx fw and it will work. Just use scetool and resign for working in all firmwares. There a lot of resigners out there (aldostools repack the entire pkg in one click (content menu option), trueancestor self resigner, etc)

The problem is in linux. Geohot's make_self_npdrm that signs (with npdrm) the eboot does not work properly on 4.xx firmwares.
As far has i know the only way is use scetool + wine on linux. Iris Manager did that http://gitorious.ps3dev.net/irismanager-4-x/irismanager-4-x/blobs/master/Makefile

In order to publish builds automatically I need a signing tool for Linux.

Doesn't anyone on the scene publish source code for their tools anymore?

RE: test builds signed for 4.21? - Added by Girish Patel almost 8 years ago

I got my custom build working by using 'CFW 4.xx+ F.A.R. Script v0.5b'. I built Showtime my usual way in Ubuntu. Then took the pkg file and dropped it on the 'CFW 4.xx+ F.A.R. Script v0.5b' on my pc and it re-signed it for me. :)

@andreas oman
Most of the devs of the scene open source their code. But there are some exceptions.
Scetool is an all in one signing tool developed by naehrwert, i think he never published the code. I think you can ask him for a linux version for psl1ght.
Either way the problem is with the EBOOT.BIN (npdrm). As far has i know showtime.self does not have problems so i think you can continue updating showtime.self and the auto testing updates.
In case you are interested, i think the last version of ps3tools and ps3publictools are the granberro version which you can find in the last link of this page of the wiki http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:NPDRM_Selfs (or in the case of ps3tools they are also on granberro git https://github.com/granberro/ps3tools). Also there is another version of ps3tools ("PS3 Tools completed with PKG/SPKG 4.XX support") in http://gitorious.ps3dev.net/ps3tools.

@girish
Yes, that's what i has talking about, for windows there are multiple tool for signing/resigning. The problem is ALL of then use scetool that only work on windows and andoma needs a linux tool for auto-signing in a linux script.
