AUDIO (DEBUG): PS3 audio port 0 opened AUDIO (DEBUG): The state is 1

Added by andrew hill over 11 years ago

Does anyone else experience the sound going out then coming back seconds later while the log shows

"AUDIO (DEBUG): PS3 audio port 0 opened
AUDIO (DEBUG): The state is 1 "

it happens up to 15 times in an hour show, almost allways at the begining, and happens randomly as in the same show may so it 3 times now and 8 next time its watched.

Or is it just my ps3?

I have noticed that when
"AUDIO (DEBUG): PS3 audio port 0 opened
AUDIO (DEBUG): The state is 1 "
is displayed the video file is changing the audio profile from lets say 5.1 to stereo back to 5.1 is it possible to lock the audio profile after its initally read so it doesn't keep trying to change itself its whats causing audio drop out.

After experiencing this on every ps3 in my group of friends I refuse to accept no one else has has this issue

Yes all of them and randomly, have you experienced this yourself? My Files are mostly hd tv shows, I have 750gb of them all mkv avg size for 1 hour is 1.4 gb largest for 1 hour is 2.2gb. My friends have my files mostly to confirm it wasn't just my ps3.

My files play fine on my laptop, and like I said before it is always switching audio from one mode to another ( stereo to 5.1) when the audio cuts out and the r3 log says RE: AUDIO (DEBUG): PS3 audio port 0 opened AUDIO (DEBUG): The state is 1

Showtime is still my favorite ps3 homebrew, keep up the great work.

I've had this problem for months! I've been trying all the testing builds, and just tried 3.6.3 stable, but it still happens.

Video playback freezes and the audio cuts out for a second. The log repeatedly shows:
"AUDIO (DEBUG): PS3 audio port 0 opened
AUDIO (DEBUG): The state is 1 "

It may be important that my PS3 uses an optical toslink S/PDIF connection to my audio reciever. The problem only happens with a minority of my video files, I think they all have AC3 audio. I agree with Andrew that the audio stuttering may be associated with changes in the audio profile during the stream (e.g., stereo <-> 5.1). On one show, for example, the stutterings happens mostly during review clips of the previous episode. On another video, it happens around commercials or videos edits.

These files play fine using the built in player streaming from PS3 Media Server.

Hope this can be reproduced and addressed!

Cheers.

Is there an issue filed with necessary files and a description how to reproduce it?

RE: AUDIO (DEBUG): PS3 audio port 0 opened AUDIO (DEBUG): The state is 1 - Added by Tony Miker almost 11 years ago

I can't find a public issue. I'll try to make a sample file and move the content of this thead over there.

double cool
I can confirm that Alexandre's sample file starts stuttering on my system just after 1:45

RE: AUDIO (DEBUG): PS3 audio port 0 opened AUDIO (DEBUG): The state is 1 - Added by andrew hill almost 11 years ago

The issue is random, as in just because it happened at 1:45 does not mean it will happen at exactly 1:45 every time.

I think I know why this happens but I'm currently not at home (where my PS3 is) right now so I can't work on it

This bug is still present, no disrespect but is it this that hard to add a option to lock in the audio profile upon initial scan of the file. (mkv)

Showtime is a great program but if the files are messing up then what's the point.

I still think your app is the best ps3 homebrew.

Can't do that because the audio channel layout changes throughout the file.

Provide a sample file that does not work and i'll fix it.
