Bad performance and stuck with new versions of Movian on PS3

Hello, I'm using Movian (FKA Showtime) for a very long time on my PS3 and the performance and usability was better and better, and I love 5.0 GUI. Besides some problems with wrong metadata, i was having no problems with it.

But the last month (I'm not sure if I updated the software, I'm having some problems when playing my movies. After a while playing, i get stumbling video and I get stuck when trying to go backward or forward or trying to exit the current file.

I don't know if it's a problem on my PS3, I've tried to reinstall Movian and the same problem. I also tried with an old version of Showtime 4.10 and the video player goes much better but I miss a lot of functionalities of newer versions and subtitles don't work.

I'm currently using 5.0.274 Stable (tried test version and bleeding edge version with the same problem)
I can't find a previous versions of Movian to try if the problem wasn't there (5.01? or something like that)

Is anyone having the same problem o it is my PS3/player? Is it a known Issue?
I Know the PS3 is an old hardware and sometime will be not supported anymore, but It worked flawlessly for me until now.

Thats interesting. My PS3 started to have problems as well. I thought that i had to change the hdd cause it would have too many bad sectors or something like that.
In my case, the problem is that the system seems to run slower and slower with the UI becoming un-navigatable and finally even crashing / freezing the whole PS3 forcing me to hard reset it using the power button.
As it seems that i am not the only one, this really could be connected to movian.

Yes, it's pretty much the same for me. I play movies from my home network , so the hdd should't be the problem for me.

I dont play content from my hdd but the hdd light keeps blinking and you can hear the hdd working. Its not related to the hdd being used to get the content to play but the things in the background (like buffering, etc ) which are sometimes swapped to the hdd, may get out of hand.

So, do you encounter the same behavior? Does the hdd light (the orange / yellow one) light up all the time when the ps3 gets slower?
