MP4 file - Black screen with audio

I've got a few of these files that won't play in Showtime but they do play from the video menu on the PS3.

Basically the file plays and you can hear the audio but there is no picture.

It's taking me nearly an hour just to split the file! I've tried different splitters but I kept getting no sound.

Anyhow I think this one should be ok hopefully.

If this gets fixed it would be great as then 100% of my video files will play in Showtime!

seems to be mpeg4/Quicktime jpg2000 4.1 but I can't understand why Showtime can't play them as the PS3 through the video menu does.

I've tried 4.0 and 3.1 and they work fine.

I noticed something today. I got a level 4.1 mp4 to work! The only difference was that the screen resolution was 720x320p.

All the other 4.1 files I have are 1280x528p etc and thats when I get a black screen.

Also I noticed I have a 5.1 mp4 and that plays fine with a 1280 resolution too.

So maybe its to do with the resolution??? over 720 wide isn't read properly?

You can use this converter to convert videos to MP4 with MPEG4 or H264 codec: [[http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/free-flv-to-mp4-converter.html]]. Btw, it supports changing the resolution to SD, HD and even 4k.

Really your post is really very good and I appreciate it. It’s hard to sort the good from the bad sometimes.You definitely put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years.
